We were determined not to let the fact we had no luggage to start with spoil our holiday. We weren't going to sit around in our apartment waiting for a phone call that our bags were coming. Besides we had a coulpe of things booked , like my birthday dinner on Thursday evening, and breakfast at the Palace of Versailles restaurant on Friday morning.
So on Wednesday morning we visited the Place Monge Street Markets that were around the corner from our apartment, as well as wandering along the Rue Mouffetard. We also wandered around the shops for some more clothing as the date for our bags arrival appeared to be pushed back.
That afternoon after lunch we took the Metro out to Parc St Cloud where I had spent some time wandering around when Uta was in hospital on our trip 5 years before. At that time wandering around the park was very therapeutic. Also back then there weren't many visitors to the park. I think that in the 4 visits I took there I saw 3 people, a photographer and 2 Models. This time although it wasn't crowded there were a good few people out there.
St Cloud used to be the site of a Palace that was destroyed during the Franco-Prussian War. The Prussians set up their artillery there and bombarded Paris. The French returned fire and the Chateau was destroyed .
