We left our accommodation at Friars Carse on the final day of our Backroads Tour to visit the last few sites before finishing up in Edinburgh. Our first stop was at the town of Moffat, whose claim to fame is the local Star Hotel is only 6 metres wide making it the narrowest Hotel in the world.

Passing by the "Roaring Linn - Grey Mare's Tale" waterfall we made our way to Abbotsford House which was the home of Scottish novelist, poet and playwright Sir Walter Scott. It was a very impressive house to say the least and Sir Walter was quite a collector of historical memorabilia which was displayed throughout the house.

After Abbortsfoerd we proceeded to the town of Melrose where we had lunch before heading to our last site seeing point, Rosslyn Chapel. This chapel was made more famous being one of the sites in Dan Brown's novel, The Da Vinci Code. Unfortunately photography was not allowed inside the chapel but the talk was interesting.

After the chapel we made it to Edinburgh where we bade our Guide, Driver and travelling companions farewell and grabbed a taxi to our hotel.
