After breakfast we headed to Trier which is claimed to be the oldest city in Germany. The city dates back to Roman times .
We spent the morning looking around the city and after lunch we attended a 'performance' in the "Porte Nigra" where the main actor was playing a Roman Centurion from back in the day. I didn't have the heart to tell him that he had the wrong crest on his helmet. I was most interesting and I understood most of it as it was in German.
The town has a couple of large churches in the Dom of St Peter and the Frauenkirche. In addition there is a large Protestant church in the Basilica of Constantine.
Below is the section of photobook covering Trier.
